Athens Community Invited to Tee Off for a Cause at Morning Pointe Foundation Golf Tournament

Golf tournament supports scholarships for future healthcare professionals and caregiver education across the Southeast

ATHENS, Tenn. (July 1, 2026) — Golfers, businesses and community members are invited to come together for a day of friendly competition with a meaningful purpose during the Morning Pointe Foundation Golf Tournament on Wednesday, July 29, at Springbrook Golf & Country Club in Athens.

The tournament raises funds for the Morning Pointe Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Morning Pointe Senior Living. Since 2014, the Foundation has invested in the future of senior care by providing scholarships for students pursuing careers in nursing, culinary arts, social work and therapy, while also offering free caregiver education programs that equip families with the knowledge and resources to care for aging loved ones.

Registration and breakfast begin at 7:30 a.m., followed by a 9 a.m. shotgun start. The event concludes with a luncheon and awards banquet at 1 p.m.

“As our senior population continues to grow, so does the need for compassionate, well-trained healthcare professionals,” said Greg A. Vital, co-founder of Morning Pointe Senior Living. “This tournament is about more than golf. It is about neighbors coming together to invest in the future of senior care by supporting students who will one day serve older adults and by helping families access valuable caregiver education.”

The tournament welcomes golfers of all skill levels and offers an opportunity for local businesses, civic organizations and residents to make a lasting impact through participation and sponsorship.

“Every scholarship awarded and every caregiver education program we offer begins with the generosity of people who believe in making a difference,” said Miranda Perez, executive director of the Morning Pointe Foundation. “Events like our Athens golf tournament bring communities together around a shared purpose—supporting students who are preparing to care for others and providing families with resources that help them navigate the aging journey. We invite everyone to join us on the course and become part of that mission.”

Individuals, businesses and organizations interested in participating or sponsoring the tournament are encouraged to join the effort to strengthen the future of senior care while enjoying a day on the course.
