Countdown to Pickleball for a Purpose: Registration Continues for Oct. 25 Scholarship Showdown in Calhoun

Morning Pointe Foundation Tournament to Fund Nursing, Therapy, and Culinary Scholarships Across 5 Southeastern States, Including Georgia’s Dalton State

CALHOUN, Ga. (September 23, 2025) — The countdown is on! With just under a month to go, registration continues for the 2nd Annual Morning Pointe Foundation Pickleball for a Purpose Scholarship Showdown, set for Saturday, October 25, at Pickleball 706 in Calhoun — North Georgia’s premier indoor pickleball facility. Hosted in partnership with Morning Pointe of Calhoun, the tournament raises funds to support scholarships in nursing, therapy, and culinary programs across the Southeast, including Georgia’s Dalton State College.

“This event is all about turning a fun day on the court into life-changing opportunities for students who will one day make a difference in their chosen fields,” said Miranda Perez, Executive Director of the Morning Pointe Foundation.

Hosted at Pickleball 706’s eight climate-controlled courts with a full-service pro shop, the tournament welcomes players of all skill levels.

Since its founding in 2014, the Morning Pointe Foundation has awarded more than 150 scholarships to students in Georgia, Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama, and Indiana pursuing degrees in nursing, therapy, and culinary arts. In Georgia, the Foundation supports students at Dalton State College.
