Morning Pointe’s Farm to Table Program Emphasizes Fresh Food in Dining

Ahh, spring brings with it more sunshine and fresh produce! At Morning Pointe Senior Living, our residents are reaping the benefits of the season… right on their dining room tables.

Our dining services program Farm to Table places an emphasis on fresh, nutritious, and local food. Whether that be mashed potatoes whipped up from scratch, custom-made omelets, or vegetables grown in the courtyard, it’s our goal to make each meal something that our residents look forward to. Partners like Gordon Food Service’s NearBuy program and What Chefs Want are helping us do that, as are our families and volunteers helping us grow on-site gardens.

Some communities have been planting herb gardens, while others are busy harvesting strawberries, and still others are watching the growth of tomato and cucumber plants to enjoy on salads in the months to come.

And even when our community gardens are not growing, we are still looking for local, in-season produce to serve our residents.
