For 2025, Morning Pointe Senior Living is taking a sonorous spin on its virtual travel program, as communities throughout the Southeast will feature programming around the settings of 12 famous musicals.

Each month, Morning Pointe’s assisted living and memory care campuses focus on a different location theme as part of the company’s Morning Pointe in Motion virtual travel program. Morning Pointe communities offer multiple activities each day to appeal to residents’ varied interests and engage them in meaningful ways. Morning Pointe believes that aging should be a time of continued growth and development and that even in memory care, senior residents can still find joyful and meaningful moments to enrich their lives.

“Two things that tend to hold special interest for our seniors are music and travel, so this year, we are putting the two together,” said Amanda Yelenick, Morning Pointe’s vice president of life enrichment. “We have some locations here in the states and some abroad, and I can’t wait to see how our Life Enrichment teams feature these cities to engage residents, learn together about these locations and have fun while they’re at it. We also encourage volunteers in each of our wider communities who may have lived in or visited these places to share their stories or showcase photos or other mementos of these places.”

The musicals featured include eras from the 50s to the 2010s. The locations and musicals for 2025 include:

  • January – Hollywood, California (“Singing in the Rain”)
  • February – Maine (“Carousel”)
  • March – Oklahoma (“Oklahoma”)
  • April – France (“Beauty and the Beast”)
  • May – Kauai, Hawaii (“South Pacific”)
  • June – Africa (“The Lion King”)
  • July – Chicago, Illinois (“Grease”)
  • August – London, United Kingdom (“Mary Poppins”)
  • September – Greece (“Mamma Mia”)
  • October – Iowa (“The Music Man”)
  • November – Austria (“The Sound of Music”)
  • December – New York City (“Newsies”)

Campuses “visit” the locations through videos, crafts, travel sharing from those who have been to these places, guest speakers, outings, games, trivia and specialty foods. The themes give a direction for multi-sensory engagement. In 2024, Morning Pointe in Motion celebrated cities that hosted the Olympic Games, in honor of the Summer Olympics in Paris.

“This year’s Morning Pointe in Motion program is a perfect example of how we strive to bring creativity and joy into the lives of our residents,” said Greg Vital, Morning Pointe co-founder and president. “By combining the magic of musicals with the excitement of exploring new destinations, we are creating opportunities for meaningful connections, shared experiences, and lifelong learning across our communities.”

Founded in 1997 by Greg A. Vital and Franklin Farrow, Morning Pointe Senior Living operates 40 assisted living and Alzheimer’s memory care communities in five southeastern states. For more information, visit morningpointe.com.
