Morning Pointe of Franklin residents were excited to learn that their beloved Bruno — a bear made of only recyclables and items found in nature — received honorable mention at the Indiana State Fair.
As part of the Life Enrichment Program, the assisted living community participates in creative projects, putting their heads together as their imaginations come alive.
The residents have entered in the fair’s contest for the third year in a row., entering in the recyclables category once again.
The creation of Bruno was a collective effort, as nearly a dozen residents contributed everything from ideas, construction, finishing touches and the naming of the bear. And their hard work paid off, as they took home the Honorable Mention Ribbon among possibly hundreds of non-professional entries this year.
“It is so neat to see what we created earn recognition at the county fair,” said Gene Novak, Morning Pointe of Franklin resident.
