The Difference Consistent Clinical Care Can Make

Caring for a loved one with dementia can bring changing needs over time. Families often provide tremendous care and support at home, but there may come a point when changes in nutrition, medication management or everyday needs require an additional level of support.

Morning Pointe Senior Living’s latest clinical case study offers one example of what that added support can look like. Through an individualized plan of care addressing medication management, nutrition, daily routine and social engagement, one resident experienced measurable improvements in her health while becoming an active part of her community.

“Good clinical care starts with understanding the individual,” said Carrissa Brock, RN, BSN, MHA, Regional Director of Nursing for Morning Pointe’s Bluegrass Kentucky Region. “We look closely at what a resident needs each day and where we can provide the right support to help that person do well.”

Brock says that kind of consistency can make an important difference over time.

“Sometimes it is the everyday things that make the biggest difference. Having consistent support, paying attention to changes and adjusting care as needs change can help a resident feel stronger and more comfortable in their daily routine.”

In this case, the resident’s care plan focused on:

  • Consistent medication oversight
  • Proper nutrition and healthy weight
  • A structured daily routine
  • Opportunities to stay involved and engaged

The results speak for themselves. Click Here to read the full case study to see this resident’s progress and the care approach behind it.
