From September 10-16, Morning Pointe Senior Living communities around the Southeast will celebrate National Senior Living Week. The theme this year is “Season of Reflection.”

Reflection is a meaningful way to honor the past while embracing the future. With the theme, residents can pause and appreciate the journeys they have undertaken and the relationships they have formed.

To celebrate, Morning Pointe’s 37 senior living communities in Tennessee, Kentucky, Georgia, Alabama and Indiana have put together a week filled with activities that center around reminiscing.

For example, at Morning Pointe of East Hamilton, Tennessee, each day of the week will highlight a different decade. Associates and residents will dress up according to the time period. At Morning Pointe of Danville, Kentucky, residents will be sharing old recipes, such as old-fashioned applesauce. Morning Pointe of Powell, Tennessee, will hold a baking contest. And Morning Pointe of Brentwood, Tennessee, will host a country Hootenanny.

“Our commitment at Morning Pointe has always been to provide an experience that nurtures physical, emotional, and intellectual well-being,” said Amanda Yelenick, vice president of life enrichment at Morning Pointe Senior Living. “This National Senior Living Week, we emphasize the value of reflection as a tool for emotional and intellectual wellness. In turn, that also nurtures physical health.”
