FRANKFORT, KY – Joanna Clark, 15, sophomore at Lexington Latin School, kept seniors in mind this season, bringing Christmas gifts to the residents at The Lantern at Morning Pointe Alzheimer’s Center of Excellence, Frankfort.
Joanna volunteers through her school’s project – the Senior Sleigh program. The program ensures that seniors are “adopted” by a community member so that they can receive
a present. She and her mother, Meredith, organized their thoughtful deliveries to the memory care community, as the residents appreciated unwrapping the joy and generosity in each gift.
Morning Pointe invites students from local schools to practice the art of paying it forward. The residents enjoy intergenerational activities with children and young adults, as they look forward to spending time together all year around.
