The students from Lenoir City High School’s Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) brought holiday cheer to Morning Pointe of Lenoir City (TN) by spending some time with the assisted living community’s residents. Disregarding the chilly weather outside, the students and seniors passed the afternoon in Morning Pointe’s cozy activity room, competing in several heated rounds of bingo, and the winners of each game received prizes donated by the FCA students. Afterward, the students sang Christmas carols for the residents and chatted with them.
“Our residents were so excited to visit with the students! It really brightened their Christmas season,” says Camie Entrekin, the Life Enrichment Director at Morning Pointe of Lenoir City. “The FCA and their teacher, Joe Echols, came to Morning Pointe as part of a service learning project. Intergenerational activities, like the time we spent with the students today, are so important to us because everyone benefits from them. The residents lives are enriched, and the students are able to learn from our seniors.”
