After faithfully visiting the residents of Morning Pointe of Franklin (IN) each Monday to teach a Bible study class, volunteers Dennis and Bonnie Triplett decided to invite the residents of the senior living community to visit them for change—so they invited the residents to a fish fry at their lake home on Cataract Lake. The residents of Morning Pointe of Franklin were delighted to receive an invitation looked forward to a day of fishing, boating, and eating.
“Unfortunately, the weather did not hold out for us, but that did not stop the fish fry. Dennis had worked all weekend long catching fish to prepare for the meal. The day turned out to be fabulous,” says Mary Beth Piland, the Life Enrichment Director at Morning Pointe of Franklin. “The volunteers say that our residents are their extended family, and they just love coming to Morning Pointe. They get just as much as they give. It is a win-win for both.”
