With the aging population growing at an unprecedented rate, families across Tennessee are facing tough decisions about how to care for their loved ones. From financial planning to navigating Medicaid and VA benefits, the choices can be overwhelming. That’s why the Morning Pointe Foundation is bringing its Caregiver Café panel discussion to Brentwood – offering families free access to expert advice on April 8 at Morning Pointe of Brentwood Assisted Living and Memory Care at 1522 Wilson Pike.
The Brentwood Caregiver Café
The event, titled “How to Make Tough Decisions for Your Aging Loved One,” will run from 6–7:30 p.m. and feature a panel of three professionals specializing in elder law, financial planning and veterans’ benefits. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and gain practical insights on securing care and resources for aging family members.
“As more families find themselves navigating the complexities of senior care, these discussions are more important than ever,” said Miranda Perez, executive director of the Morning Pointe Foundation. “The goal of the Caregiver Café is to provide the knowledge and tools people need before a crisis occurs, so they can make informed, confident decisions about their loved one’s future.”
The panelists at the Brentwood Caregiver Café include:
- Josh Hunter, associate attorney with Johnson McGinnis Elder Care Law & Estate Planning
- Jordon Conoway, Medicare volunteer coordinator with GNRC and SHIP Aging and Disability Services
- Mary Ross-Tarkington, M.ED., NCC, national director of client relations with Elder Veterans Legal Aid Group
With long-term care costs rising and healthcare options becoming increasingly complex, experts urge families to plan ahead rather than waiting until they are in an urgent situation. The Caregiver Café event aims to bridge that gap, offering guidance in a supportive and informative setting.
This free event is open to the public, and no tickets are required. Light refreshments will be provided. For more information, visit morningpointe.com/caregiver-cafe/.
