Morning Pointe Senior Living loves to grow the company from within, and Jazmin King, Lead Licensed Practical Nurse at Morning Pointe of Tullahoma, TN, is a great example!
Jazmin started at the assisted living and memory care campus in March 2019 as a Certified Nursing Assistant. She had experience in long-term care and wanted to branch out in her CNA career.
“I heard they had a great memory care wing here,” Jazmin shared. “I like that assisted living is more interpersonal care and not so institutional. I like being able to talk to the residents.”
While working as a CNA, Jazmin continued her nursing studies at the Tennessee College of Applied Technology (TCAT). And doing both at the same time was a win-win for her.
“My job at Morning Pointe gave me a better understanding in my studies as far as geriatrics goes,” Jazmin said. “It made me more confident in my skills.”
As she studied to become an LPN, Jazmin also got support from the Morning Pointe team. She was able to schedule shifts around her classes, and she had team members frequently checking on her and encouraging her along her educational journey. She graduated with her LPN and became a first-shift LPN at the community in October 2021.
“I like that I have very supportive coworkers and management with the same goal in mind of resident care,” Jazmin said. “I’m grateful that I’m able to grow where I’m at.”
