On Feb. 1, the Morning Pointe Foundation announced Jack Wise, pianist, as the winner of its Best of the Best contest for the 2023 season of Seniors Got Talent.

Jack won the Foundation’s Seniors Got Talent show in Franklin, Tennessee, for 2023, for performing his original composition, “Live Life More. He went on to compete with the winners of the other three shows, in Chattanooga, Tennessee; Knoxville, Tennessee, and Lexington, Kentucky. The general public voted online in the form of donations to the Foundation to support its mission of caregiver education and scholarships.

“It’s hard to express my gratitude to Morning Pointe for organizing the event,” said Jack. “It goes to show that we may get older, but we still play our instruments and sing and find joy in that. It also means even more because those votes weren’t free – I’m thankful to those who voted and made a contribution for a good cause.”

The 2024 Seniors Got Talent schedule is as follows:

  • Chattanooga – July 29 at the Silverdale Center Creekside Theatre
  • Lexington – Sept. 10 at the Lexington Opera House
  • Franklin – Oct. 15 at The Franklin Theatre
  • Knoxville – Nov. 12 at The Bijou Theatre

All Seniors Got Talent shows take place at 7 p.m. local time and support the Morning Pointe Foundation.

Hydration and Heat: A Vital Reminder for Older Adults

With the current heat wave affecting much of the region, it’s more important than ever to stay hydrated—especially for seniors. As we grow older, our bodies don’t signal thirst as clearly, which means dehydration can sneak up quickly, even before we feel thirsty.
