Across Morning Pointe Assisted Living and Memory Care communities, Activities Professionals Week shines a light on the Life Enrichment Directors and Lantern Program Directors who create purpose, connection, and joy for residents every single day.
Every day inside Morning Pointe communities, life is happening — not just activities, but moments. Moments that give days meaning. Moments that turn ordinary days into memories. From music and movement to creativity and connection, residents are learning, engaging, sharing, and discovering alongside the professionals who plan each experience with care.
“I love doing what I do because I love turning their ordinary days into something wonderful and special,” said Michelle Norton, Lantern Program Director at Morning Pointe of Chattanooga. “I’m able to learn how to cater to each personality and love them so well and make each day as meaningful as possible.”
At Morning Pointe of Lexington, KY, Life Enrichment Director Sylvia Logan says the relationships formed inside the community are unlike anything else.
“The residents in this community are absolutely a blessing to have,” Logan said. “The love that they show and the warmth that they give on a daily basis is unmatched. Fully blessed and happy to say that I can hold this position as the Life Enrichment Director.”
Behind each activity is thoughtful planning designed to create meaningful engagement.
“I really feel like I was made for this job. I really feel like it’s a gift for me,” said Leigha King, Life Enrichment Director at Morning Pointe of East Hamilton.
King added, “To be able to spend time with seniors is just very encouraging and inspiring… I get to play all day. I am completely inspired by the residents, the lives that they’ve lived, and they’re not finished living their lives. We have a lot of life to live together, and it’s really an honor for me.”
That impact extends beyond residents to families as well.
“Just such a fulfillment for me, just to say that something that I’ve planned that they enjoy and they have fun,” said Ashley Kilgore, Lantern Program Director at Morning Pointe of Hixson. “Even their families, when they come in, and they see them doing that activity, just the joy it brings even to the families.”
For Holly Holcomb, Life Enrichment Director at Morning Pointe of Chattanooga, the transformation she sees in residents is what makes the work worthwhile.
“A lot of residents are very hesitant when they first move in, not sure what to expect,” Holcomb said. “But once they get here and they make all these wonderful friends and get to see what it’s really like, they realize, wow, this is so much better than what I ever hoped for.”
She added, “If I can go home every day thinking that I’ve touched someone in a way that makes them feel special, it makes it all worth it to me.”
Activities Professionals Week honors the teams who make these moments possible — the planners, listeners, encouragers, and creators who bring purpose to each day. At Morning Pointe Senior Living, their work ensures residents have something to look forward to every single day.
