Building Connection: New Volunteer Program Launches in Owensboro

OWENSBORO, Ky. — February 11, 2026 — A new volunteer initiative focused on connection, companionship, and community support is launching in Owensboro with an open lunch event at Morning Pointe of Owensboro Assisted Living.

The Caring Community Partners Volunteer Program is designed to bring together community members who want to make a meaningful impact in the lives of local seniors. The program welcomes retirees, senior volunteer groups, and college students seeking service hours or hands-on experience.

Volunteers will support residents through event assistance, transportation help, group activities, and one-on-one socialization, especially for individuals who may not have nearby family. The focus is on building relationships that enhance emotional well-being and quality of life.

To introduce the program, Morning Pointe of Owensboro will host a Volunteer Lunch on February 26 at 11:30 a.m., offering attendees an overview of volunteer opportunities, time commitments, and the ways community involvement supports seniors’ overall health.

The event is free and open to the public. Guests will have the opportunity to connect with residents and receive a small thank-you gift for attending.
