Morning Pointe Foundation Bringing “How to Make Tough Decisions for Your Aging Loved One” Event to East Hamilton

Caregiver Cafe East Hamilton speakers 2025

On April 22, the Morning Pointe Foundation will present “How to Make Tough Decisions for Your Aging Loved One,” its annual Caregiver Café panel discussion for seniors and their families, at Morning Pointe of East Hamilton at 9700 Block E. Brainerd Road.

About the Event

The free event, which runs from 6-7:30 p.m., will allow participants to ask questions from a panel of three experts in areas of financial planning, Medicaid and Medicare and veterans benefits. This is the second year the Caregiver Café has met in person with a panel discussion.

Panelists will be:

  • Nancy A. Cogar, Esq., attorney/partner with Samples Jennings Clem and Fields, PLLC
  • Misty Bolt, CEO of Medicare Misty
  • Mary Ross-Tarkington, M.ED., NCC, national director of client relations with Elder Veterans Legal Aid Group

“Caregiver Café is really about meeting people where they are and addressing some of the most commonly asked questions about caring for older loved ones,” said Miranda Perez, executive director of the Morning Pointe Foundation. “A lot of family members find themselves in unfamiliar territory when an older loved one has a health event. We’d love to help answer some of those questions, to empower area seniors and their loved ones so they will have good plans in place that they can all be happy with.”

Tickets are not required for the event. Light refreshments will be provided. For more information about the event, visit morningpointe.com/caregiver-cafe/.

Morning Pointe of East Hamilton Assisted Living and Memory is a campus about to expand, with The Lantern at Morning Pointe Alzheimer’s Center of Excellence, East Hamilton set to open soon. The new community will offer two levels of Alzheimer’s and memory care service – a new service for early-stage care in addition to the more traditional care for those further along in their disease process. Staff will be specially trained in memory care approaches and programs. When The Lantern opens, the original building will transition to an assisted-only community.

Both East Hamilton communities are taking reservations.

Founded in 1997 by Vital and Farrow, Morning Pointe Senior Living operates 40 assisted living and Alzheimer’s memory care communities in five southeastern states, including six in Hamilton County, Tennessee. Each location offers licensed, clinical or care staff available 24 hours a day; a full life enrichment program; nutritious meals; and on-site physical, occupational and speech therapy services.
