The Morning Pointe Foundation’s Lexington edition of Seniors Got Talent has been growing year over year and is returning for the 6th time for 2025!
This Year’s Seniors Got Talent Lexington
The show, which the Foundation puts on in conjunction with Morning Pointe Senior Living, will take place on Tuesday, Sept. 9 at 7 p.m. Once again, 10 to 12 senior acts will compete for the $1,000 grand prize at the Lexington Opera House at 401 W. Short St.
The contest is open to all seniors age 60 or older (not just Morning Pointe campus residents) with any of a wide range of performing talent. Past acts have included singers, musicians, dancers, comedians, illusionists and more.
Prizes, as last year, not only include the first-place $1,000, but also $500 for second place and $250 for third place. Winners will be determined by a panel of judges, although the audience will have a chance to vote as well, determining a People’s Choice winner.
Auditions will be opening soon, so talented seniors in the area are encouraged to start honing their talents to try out!
About the Cause
Seniors Got Talent does more than just spotlighting the enduring talent of seniors. It is also a fundraiser for the Morning Pointe Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit that provides local scholarships, forms community partnerships, and supports caregivers in its mission to advance the care of seniors. Monies raised through sponsorships, ticket sales and People’s Choice votes go to help fund nursing and other scholarships at partner schools. In the greater Lexington area, these schools include Eastern Kentucky University; Bluegrass Community and Technical College – Winchester-Clark County Campus; and Kentucky State University.
“We had the largest crowds ever at our show last year, and we can’t wait to see how our Lexington showcase continues to grow in 2025,” said Miranda Perez, Morning Pointe Foundation executive director. “Dozens of deserving students have benefitted directly from the funds raised at Seniors Got Talent Lexington, and dozens of senior performers have graced the stage and proven that seniors still have so much talent to give.”
The Foundation hosts four Seniors Got Talent shows each year. Besides Lexington, shows are held in Tennessee in Chattanooga, Franklin and Knoxville.
