LEXINGTON, Ky. (December 10, 2020) – Tracey Adewale, housekeeper at The Lantern at Morning Pointe Alzheimer’s Center of Excellence, Lexington, has received the Morning Pointe Senior Living Exceeding Expectations award for outstanding service in the Bluegrass Region, covering 12 Morning Pointe communities in Kentucky and Indiana.

Independent Healthcare Properties (IHP) and Morning Pointe Senior Living presented its Exceeding Expectations awards at its annual conference last week, recognizing the most exceptional of its associates for demonstrating leadership and excellence in providing quality senior care services. Every year, the company acknowledges top performing team members in its 35 communities in Alabama, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, and Tennessee. This year’s conference was held virtually, the first in the company’s nearly 25-year history.

Adewale has been in senior care for over 14 years, but has only been with Morning Pointe for about a year. In that short time, and amidst a global pandemic, she has won the respect of residents and associates alike in an important area of concern: keeping the entire facility cleaned and sanitized while growing her relationships with residents and supporting her entire team.

“My heart is in senior living,” said Adewale. “When I leave work at the end of each day, I feel like I have made a difference in the lives of the residents. It’s what keeps me going!”

When awarding her as the Exceeding Expectations winner, Morning Pointe cited Adewale’s love for seniors and passion for memory care—as well as going above and beyond in making sure her building is clean—as particularly noteworthy.

“This award goes to associates who exceed the expectations set for them, and Tracey is no exception,” said Heather Tussing, executive vice president of Morning Pointe Senior Living. “Especially in this challenging pandemic environment, she understands the importance of listening to our residents and what they have to say. Tracey is on the front lines of helping to keep our residents safe and cognitively engaged.”

“Morning Pointe has a long history of celebrating associates like Tracey who demonstrate the ideals of serving others in senior living,” said Greg A. Vital, the president of Morning Pointe Senior Living. “Morning Pointe associates like Tracey have gone above and beyond protecting the health and safety of our residents.”
