Associates from local Morning Pointe Senior Living communities and the home office (and their families), as well as volunteers, joined this year’s Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s in Coolidge Park in Chattanooga, Tennessee, continuing the company’s decades of support with the charity organization.
“As a company that cares for hundreds of seniors living with Alzheimer’s, we see how the disease impacts them and their families every day,” said Amanda Yelenick, Morning Pointe Senior Living’s vice president of life enrichment. “Everything we can do to find a cure and provide support to those on the journey means a lot to us.”
Morning Pointe Senior Living brought in several thousand dollars for the event this year, adding to the hundreds of thousands it has contributed over the years. Associates also set up a giant coloring page on a board that attendees could color in, depicting the company’s theme image for this year’s Walk of an elephant with the words “Love Never Forgets.”
Represented at the Walk to End Alzheimer’s were Morning Pointe campuses in Chattanooga, East Hamilton, Collegedale and Hixson. The Lantern at Morning Pointe Alzheimer’s Center of Excellence, East Hamilton, is currently under construction off East Brainerd Road and is expected to open in early 2025, adding early-stage memory care to the campus’s services and expanding the model of care.
Founded in 1997 by Greg A. Vital and Franklin Farrow, Morning Pointe Senior Living operates 40 assisted living and Alzheimer’s memory care communities in five southeastern states. Each Morning Pointe community provides access to clinical care; meals with dietician oversight and an emphasis on fresh, local produce; a full life enrichment activity program; engaging community partnerships; and on-site physical, occupational and speech therapy services.
