ATHENS, Tenn. — February 4, 2026—During the month of January, residents at Morning Pointe of Athens Assisted Living came together to support neighbors in need through a cold-weather coat drive, culminating in the delivery of donated items to Grace and Mercy and its warming center and shower bus.
Residents took pride in knowing their efforts would help keep members of the community warm during the coldest weeks of winter. Many shared how meaningful it felt to play an active role in giving back and supporting a local organization that serves those experiencing hardship.
This spirit of service extends beyond the winter months. Each month, Morning Pointe of Athens prepares meals for individuals in need, and residents often join in by helping fold silverware and assist with preparations. These moments offer residents a continued sense of purpose and connection, reinforcing the importance of community involvement at every stage of life.
“It’s a joy to see the pride our residents take in serving others,” said Liz Densmore, Life Enrichment Director. “They truly enjoy the opportunity to give back, and you can see how much it means to them to know they’re making a difference right here in our community.”
Morning Pointe of Athens remains grateful to be part of a caring community where neighbors look out for one another and small acts of kindness create a lasting impact.
