Morning Pointe of Powell Assisted Living, located at 7700 Dannaher Drive, proudly announces Helen Porter as its new executive director. Porter brings more than a decade of senior living experience and a passion for enriching the lives of residents to her leadership role.
In her new position, Porter oversees the daily operations of the assisted living community, working alongside a dedicated team of directors, nurses, nursing assistants and support staff. Together, they deliver personalized care programs that promote health, independence and meaningful experiences for residents while providing essential support to their families. Porter also mentors and trains other Morning Pointe Senior Living associates, nurturing future leaders in the field.
A University of Tennessee Knoxville graduate with a master’s degree in recreation therapy, Porter’s career began working with individuals of all ages with multiple disabilities. However, she felt a deeper calling to senior care.
“I love finding the ‘yes’ and enhancing quality of life,” Porter shared. “I took a lady skydiving for her 90th birthday — those are the moments you never forget.”
“We are thrilled to welcome Helen as the executive director at Morning Pointe of Powell,” said Josh Lowe, vice president of operations for Morning Pointe Senior Living’s Smoky Region. “Her impressive background and unwavering dedication to improving residents’ lives have already made her a beloved part of our team and community.”
