Morning Pointe of Franklin (TN) residents Mary Mullinnex and Evelyn Lovette spend time with Southern Hills Church of Christ homeschool students Hannah, Jayden, Justus, Jakson, Luke, Claire, and Ady Kate as part of a monthly devotional group led by the students. For over two years, students from the church have visited the assisted living community to study the Bible and pray with residents, practicing their reading and public speaking skills while forming bonds that bridge generations. “Intergenerational programs are a signature feature of our Morning Pointe communities, and the success of this student-led devotional group shows how beneficial these types of programs are,” says Morning Pointe program director Ashley Briggs. “These children bring an energy to their devotions that is felt by the residents. They have become part of the Morning Pointe family!”
