Auditions picking up steam for Morning Pointe Foundation’s Seniors Got Talent show at The Bijou Theatre

Morning Pointe Foundation Seniors Got Talent Knoxville tryouts

It’s going to be a star-studded show at The Bijou Theatre on Nov. 14, and the stars are local talented seniors age 62 and up!

Auditions are going on now through Oct. 9 for the Morning Pointe Foundation’s 3rd Annual Knoxville Seniors Got Talent variety show. All talented seniors age 62 and older in the Knoxville area are encouraged to try out. Acts have included singers, musicians, dancers, poets, comedians, ventriloquists and more.

Ten seniors or groups of seniors will be selected to perform at The Bijou Theatre on Nov. 14 at 7 p.m. They will vie for the grand prize of $500, and prizes will be given to second- and third-place winners. Attendees at the show will also determine a People’s Choice winner at $1 per vote.

All proceeds from the show will go to the Morning Pointe Foundation, 501(c)3 nonprofit public service organization that provides caregiver support programs, sponsors educational awareness events, and funds clinical scholarships throughout the Southeast.

Interested seniors can submit audition videos online at morningpointefoundation.com/events/seniors-got-talent through Oct. 9.

In-person auditions will take place Oct. 2-6 at local Morning Pointe Senior Living campuses, allowing residents to enjoy some live entertainment:

“Our Morning Pointe Seniors Got Talent in Knoxville is shaping up to be a great show,” said Miranda Perez, Morning Pointe Foundation executive director. “This is a great opportunity for talented seniors in the greater Knoxville area to show that age can’t stop a star from shining!”

Acts showcasing talents of all kinds are welcome but should not exceed three minutes in length.

Tickets for the Morning Pointe Foundation Seniors Got Talent show are $10. They will go on sale in October.
