“It’s unreal to me how far I’ve come.”
Jimmy Overstreet, a resident at Morning Pointe of Danville, Kentucky, Senior Living, is thankful for the blessings in his life, including coming to Morning Pointe.
In his younger days, Jimmy served in the U.S. Army for two years and enjoyed a wonderful 50-year marriage to the love of his life. When his wife passed away, he struggled, and he credits God with helping him through that time.
Jimmy was out trimming his shrubs last autumn when he accidentally disturbed a bee’s nest and was stung all over. He came to Morning Pointe very debilitated and unable to walk.
“I ended up here, and I couldn’t be at a better place,” Jimmy said. “The people who work here couldn’t be any better.”
Jimmy started participating in physical and occupational therapies, which Morning Pointe of Danville offers on-site through The Weston Group. Therapists helped him progress through using a machine to walk, and then one day Jimmy found himself walking to lunch. He often uses a walker or wheelchair, though, just to be safe.
He continues to be active in the community’s exercise classes and Bible studies, and his brother takes him to church. He passes on his joy to his fellow residents and the staff.
“Jimmy is just a blessing all the way around,” said Nicole Walton, life enrichment director.
Jimmy, we are glad you are part of our Morning Pointe Senior Living family!
