July 9, 2020 Update:

Morning Pointe is making great progress on rebuilding our Chattanooga, TN, communities devastated by the Easter night tornado on April 12, 2020. The assisted living community at 7719 Shallowford Road is slated to be re-opened in the fall of 2020, and The Lantern Alzheimer’s Center of Excellence at 7620 Shallowford Road is anticipated to be ready in Spring 2021. One month after a devastating tornado forced the shutdown of two Morning Pointe Senior Living communities in Chattanooga, associates and families of The Lantern Alzheimer’s Center of Excellence on Shallowford Rd. are continuing to support each other. The leadership team is planning a virtual support group as they work to stay in touch and help each other following the tornado, and in the middle of COVID-19.

When a tornado struck in the middle of the night, seniors with Alzheimer's were evacuated from their assisted living facility.
