Karen Westbrook is the Lead Resident Assistant at The Lantern at Morning Pointe of Chattanooga, Tennessee, an Alzheimer’s Center of Excellence.

She tends to be a homebody. But every day, she can’t wait to get to work.

“I love making the residents smile,” Karen said. “And when they recognize me and smile at me, it makes me feel so good. I know I’ve done my job right.”

Karen has worked for Morning Pointe for more than six years and has more than 15 years of experience in the senior living field. This truly is her passion. She started working during high school helping to feed and give water to residents in a senior care facility.

She thinks about her residents all the time and loves making sure they are taken care of correctly. She treats them as she would her own family members.

“When I know they are safe, fed, and have everything they need, I am so fulfilled,” Karen said. “It’s my life to take care of these people – my calling.”
