In Assisted Living and Memory Care, a group of extraordinary professionals, often unsung, weaves the threads of compassion, dignity, and care. They are Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), heroes who support our senior communities with meticulous dedication, often working around the clock to provide for the wellbeing and comfort of our beloved seniors.
CNAs do more than just provide clinical assistance; they also bring emotional support for residents and their families. These professionals monitor health conditions, assist with daily activities, provide essential basic care, and serve as a communication bridge to keep families updated.
We honor and thank each CNA for their tireless commitment, empathy, and the gentle kindness they extend to the residents they serve.
June 15-21, 2023 is National Nursing Assistants Week. Meet a few of our incredible CNAs at Morning Pointe Senior Living.

Kim Hicks has spent 20 1/2 of her 38 years as a CNA at Morning Pointe. She has also been a QMA for 28 years.

Kim enjoys working one-on-one with the residents and says Morning Pointe of Franklin is a good place to work.
“The payback is knowing that I am making a difference in the residents’ lives, and they are enriching mine.”
Jeanette Tucker has been a CNA for 42 years, since she graduated and answered an ad in the newspaper. At the time, she had no idea what the job was about, but she has turned it into a rewarding career.
“I love taking care of the residents and hearing them talk about how it was when they were younger,” Jeanette said.
She has been at Morning Pointe of Franklin for 20 years.
“It’s like home – you’re treated like family here,” Jeanette shared. “Morning Pointe has very caring people. You have more freedom here as a CNA to get to know the residents.”

Tammy Carmack – Morning Pointe of Frankfort, Kentucky, Senior Living
Tammy has been a CNA for 18 years and has been at Morning Pointe of Frankfort for six years. She said she enjoys the acuity level of personal care senior living, knowing she can make a difference in helping with activities of daily living while seeing the residents be relatively independent. She also appreciates the opportunity to keep learning new skills and refreshing existing ones through the trainings Morning Pointe provides.
“I feel like I am at home here,” Tammy shared. “It’s the people keeping me here. We’re like a big family.”
Staci Dennis, Regional Vice President who has been serving as Executive Director at the campus, added, “Every day she works, she is always HAPPY with every resident. She tells them how beautiful they are, how important they are and always asks what she can do for them. She is amazing and is so in it for the real reasons.”

Loretta Cameron – Morning Pointe of Richmond, Kentucky, Senior Living
Loretta is the Lead CNA on first shift. She has been a CNA for 25 years and has worked for Morning Pointe of Richmond for almost 10 years.
During the pandemic, she started trimming male residents’ hair when the hairdresser was unable to come in and the residents were unable to go out. The residents loved her hair trimming skills so much that she still continues to cut the men’s hair. Even new male residents ask her to cut their hair.
“I feel like God has called me to take care of the elderly,” Loretta said. “They’re like the grandparents I never had (all my grandparents died when I was very young). “I’ve been here so long I just get so involved with the people, the residents. And our team is really great here.”
