In January, Morning Pointe Senior Living communities have been exploring the theme Happy About Hobbies, and residents have a wide variety of interests. Our life enrichment teams focus on helping residents enjoy a vibrant life and encourage both long-time and new hobbies. Meet a few of our residents who are passionate about their pastimes, and click the link for each of them to watch their videos!

Bonita Fawver – 82 – Morning Pointe of Lenoir City, Tennessee
Bonita loves to sew! She started in her younger years on a treadle machine that belonged to her great-grandmother, before she started using an electric machine. She has a large peg board in her apartment near her sewing machine where she keeps dozens of spools of different-colored thread. Watch her video here.

Ann Payne – 82 – Morning Pointe of Knoxville, Tennessee
Ann has multiple hobbies that involve working with her hands – needlepoint, cross-stitch, knitting and more! “I got started because my mother did needlepoint, and she crocheted,” Ann shared. Ann even went on from creating pieces herself to teaching arts and crafts and passing on her expertise. “It’s good to have a hobby that you can enjoy and that you can enjoy with other people,” she said. Bob Mock – 90 – Morning Pointe of Knoxville, Tennessee
Bob loves building models! He was fascinated with aircraft as a boy growing up during World War II and started this hobby since high school, when he built model airplanes during the summers. He is a mechanical engineer by trade and loves how things work. He recently completed a model train that his son gave him. Watch his video here.
