Former Morning Pointe Foundation scholarship recipient Chris McConkey and a group of more than 60 other dedicated golfers broke out the bottled water as they teed off on Wednesday, June 25, for a cause higher than the summer temperatures: nursing scholarships.
A Great Tournament
And what an impact they will make! The Seventh Annual Mastering Memory Care Golf Tournament, organized by Morning Pointe of Athens Assisted Living, raised just over $17,000 for the Morning Pointe Foundation to fund scholarships at local partner schools. These include TCAT Athens, Tennessee Wesleyan University and Cleveland State Community College.

Winners of the tournament, held at Springbrook Golf & Country Club in Niota, Tennessee, were:
- First place: Team Kyle Owens (members Kyle Owens, Z. Brown, R. Phelps, and M. Carten)
- Second place: Hospice of Chattanooga team (members B. Price, G. Dalton, J. Roberts, and T. Propst)
- Third place: Starr Regional Hospital team (members J. Haynie, J. Bree, J. Coffman, and M. Goodner)
