Final Week to Give: Morning Pointe Senior Living Joins Samaritan Center for Annual Fall Food Drive

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (Nov. 3, 2025) – There’s still time to make a difference! Morning Pointe Senior Living communities across the Chattanooga area are entering the final week of their annual Fall Food Drive in partnership with The Samaritan Center, continuing through Sunday, November 10.

With recent SNAP food assistance changes affecting families in our area, community donations are needed now more than ever. Together, Morning Pointe and the Samaritan Center are helping ensure that no neighbor goes hungry this season by collecting nonperishable food items to stock local food pantries and support families in crisis.

Barrels are still waiting to be filled up at all area Morning Pointe Assisted Living and Memory Care communities, as well as the Morning Pointe Senior Living Corporate Office and Morning Pointe Foundation. Residents, families, associates, and neighbors are encouraged to donate nonperishable food items such as canned meats, soups, vegetables, rice dinners, and pasta. Every item truly makes a difference in helping provide emergency food bags and ongoing resources for those in need.

Participating locations include:

  1. Morning Pointe of Chattanooga at Shallowford
  2. The Lantern at Morning Pointe Chattanooga
  3. Morning Pointe of Collegedale at Greenbriar Cove
  4. The Lantern at Morning Pointe Collegedale
  5. Morning Pointe of East Hamilton
  6. The Lantern at Morning Pointe of East Hamilton
  7. Morning Pointe of Hixson
  8. Morning Pointe Senior Living Corporate Office & Morning Pointe Foundation

How to Help:

  1. Donate food: Drop off shelf-stable items (please check expiration dates).
  2. Give financially: Contributions help purchase essential items that are not collected. Financial donations can be made online at thesamaritancenter.net by selecting “Food Pantry” in the dropdown menu.

Most Needed Items Include:

Low-sodium soup • Cooking oil • Canned meat • Mustard • Beanie weenies • Juice • Salad dressing • Sugar & flour • Rice/pasta dinners • Dry soups • Pasta sauce & noodles • Hot cereals • Canned fruit • Mac & cheese

“Our communities are honored to support the Samaritan Center in meeting urgent needs,” said Amanda Yelenick, Vice President of Life Enrichment at Morning Pointe Senior Living. “The simple act of donating a box of pasta, a jar of peanut butter, or even a few cans of soup can make a lasting difference for a neighbor facing food insecurity.”

“Morning Pointe prides itself on being a community resource,” Yelenick continued. “There is always so much happening in the cities and towns we serve, and this is just one more way we can get involved and make a difference in our local community.”

Donations will be accepted at the above Morning Pointe locations throughout the drive. For more information on how to participate, visit thesamaritancenter.net.
