With the aging population growing at an unprecedented rate, families across East Tennessee are facing tough decisions about how to care for their loved ones. From financial planning to navigating Medicaid and VA benefits, the choices can be overwhelming. That’s why the Morning Pointe Foundation is once again bringing its Caregiver Café panel discussion to Knoxville—offering families free access to expert advice on March 11 at Morning Pointe of Hardin Valley.
Expert Advice
The event, titled “How to Make Tough Decisions for Your Aging Loved One,” will run from 6–7:30 p.m. and feature a panel of three professionals specializing in elder law, financial planning, and veterans’ benefits. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and gain practical insights on securing care and resources for aging family members.
“As more families find themselves navigating the complexities of senior care, these discussions are more important than ever,” said Miranda Perez, executive director of the Morning Pointe Foundation. “The goal of the Caregiver Café is to provide the knowledge and tools people need before a crisis occurs, so they can make informed, confident decisions about their loved one’s future.”
This year’s panelists include:
- Glenn Kyle, CELA, attorney with Franklin & Kyle Elder Law, LLC
- Greg Boling, vice president of care planning with Miser Wealth Partners
- Charles McGhee, veteran service officer with the Tennessee Department of Veterans Services
With long-term care costs rising and healthcare options becoming increasingly complex, experts urge families to plan ahead rather than waiting until they are in an urgent situation. The Caregiver Café event aims to bridge that gap, offering guidance in a supportive and informative setting.
This free event is open to the public, and no tickets are required. Light refreshments will be provided. Morning Pointe of Hardin Valley is located at 2449 Reagan Road, Knoxville, TN 37931. For more information, visit morningpointe.com/caregiver-cafe/.
