Franklin-Area Seniors Invited to Audition for Morning Pointe Seniors Got Talent This Week

FRANKLIN, Tenn. (August 18, 2026) – Some of Middle Tennessee’s most interesting stories may be sitting right next door. They are the neighbors who have spent decades playing music, dancing, performing, making people laugh, creating art, telling stories and developing talents that have shaped their lives. Now, the Morning Pointe Foundation is inviting those seniors to step into the spotlight as Morning Pointe Seniors Got Talent returns to the Franklin area.

Auditions are underway this week for adults ages 60 and older, with two in-person opportunities remaining on August 19 and 20. For those who are unable to attend an in-person audition, audition tapes will also be accepted through August 21. Those selected will have the chance to perform at The Franklin Theatre on October 6, but the competition is about much more than finding a winner. It is an opportunity for the community to discover, celebrate and support the older adults who make Middle Tennessee such a vibrant place to live.

And the community has already shown just how much it can accomplish when it comes together.

Last year’s Franklin-area Seniors Got Talent brought residents, families, businesses and supporters together to raise a record-breaking nearly $40,000 for the Morning Pointe Foundation. Those funds help provide scholarships to students pursuing healthcare careers across Middle Tennessee, creating a connection between the talents of today’s older adults and the future professionals who will care for generations to come.

“Seniors Got Talent gives us a chance to celebrate people for everything they are—not just their age,” said Miranda Perez, executive director of the Morning Pointe Foundation. “Every contestant has a story, a passion and something that makes them unique. When they step onto that stage, the community gets to see a side of them that they may not have had the opportunity to share before. That’s what makes this event so special.”

There’s Still Time to Audition

The competition welcomes all types of talent. Seniors do not need professional performance experience, and there is no cost to audition. Whether someone has performed for years or has simply been encouraged by family and friends to finally share their talent, they are invited to take a chance and step into the spotlight.

From singing and dancing to comedy, magic, poetry, storytelling and unique variety acts, Seniors Got Talent welcomes performances that showcase the many talents older adults have developed throughout their lives.

Finalists will advance to the Morning Pointe Seniors Got Talent Finals on Tuesday, October 6, at The Franklin Theatre, where they will compete for $1,000 for first place, $500 for second place and $250 for third place.

But the real measure of the event goes beyond the prizes. Seniors Got Talent creates an opportunity for generations to come together—to cheer for a parent or grandparent, support a neighbor, discover a new local favorite and invest in students who are preparing to care for the next generation of seniors.

“We want people to look around their own community and think about the talented seniors they know,” said Perez. “Maybe it’s the neighbor who plays guitar every weekend, the grandmother who has always loved to dance or the friend who can make an entire room laugh. We want them to know there is a place for them on this stage.”

The Morning Pointe Foundation encourages families, friends and community members to share the audition information with the talented seniors in their lives and help spread the word.
