Morning Pointe Foundation’s 9th Annual Mastering Memory Care Golf Tournament raises record $82,000+

1st place winner Team James Walker, consisting of James Walker, Brandon Williams, Eric Lewis and Samuel Davenport

The Morning Pointe Foundation’s 9th Annual Mastering Memory Care Golf Tournament on May 20 raised a record more than $82,000.

The funds go to support the Foundation’s mission of providing clinical scholarships and caregiver educational programs across the Southeast.

After a fun and challenging 18 holes of golf on the beautiful golf course at Lookout Mountain Club, Team James Walker, consisting of James Walker, Brandon Williams, Eric Lewis and Samuel Davenport, took the top spot. Second place went to Team H&B Healthcare Technologies with players Cole Spurgeon, Dave Lane, Morgan Robinson and Justin Jolly. Third place went to Team Gatlyn Simmons, with members Tyler Hisey, Ryan Keefe, Gatlyn Simmons and Nick Bain.

“We played really well – the shots went the right way today,” said James Walker. “We are big fans of the Foundation and what they do, and it was a great day.”

Participants were also invited to take part in a silent auction, which included themed gift packages. These included a $500 voucher for the Porche Experience Center in Atlanta; a round of golf for four at the Lookout Mountain Golf Club worth $1,000; a Cúrate MedAesthetics Experience package worth $600; experience packages for different areas of Chattanooga and Ooltewah; and more.

“We could not have asked for a nicer day for golf or a more deserving group for the funds raised,” said Miranda Perez, Morning Pointe Foundation executive director. “We have such wonderful school partners and were blessed to have Cleveland State Community College representatives at the event, as well as one of our recent scholarship recipients from Dalton State College. It really helps us see how these funds are being used to change lives.”

Franklin Farrow, Morning Pointe Senior Living co-founder and CEO, shared, “We thank all our sponsors for their support of this golf tournament, especially presenting sponsor UBS. Many have been with the Morning Pointe Foundation over the years and have played a vital role in funding scholarships here in the Southeast. With the current nursing shortage, every dedicated clinician makes a difference.”

All proceeds from the tournament go to the Morning Pointe Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Morning Pointe Senior Living. The 501(c)3 nonprofit public service organization was created in 2014 to provide caregiver support programs, sponsor educational awareness events, and fund clinical scholarships to advance the care of seniors throughout the Southeast.

Founded in 1997 by senior healthcare entrepreneurs Greg A. Vital and J. Franklin Farrow, Morning Pointe Senior Living owns and operates 38 assisted living, personal care, and Alzheimer’s memory care communities in five southeastern states. Locally, these include campuses in Chattanooga, East Hamilton, Hixson, Collegedale and the newest community in Walker County, Georgia.
