Morning Pointe of Chattanooga Residents Create and Donate 30 Fleece Blankets for Children’s Hospital Patients

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (October 8, 2025) – Residents at Morning Pointe of Chattanooga Assisted Living have been busy spreading warmth—literally. The group recently completed 30 soft fleece blankets, lovingly handcrafted and delivered on Monday, October 6, to the Children’s Hospital at Erlanger.

The project, which residents take part in once or twice a month, has become a meaningful tradition at the senior living community. Each blanket is made by hand—carefully measured, cut, and tied—by residents who find purpose and joy in giving back.

“This project keeps our residents active and social while giving them a tangible way to make a difference,” said Holly Holcomb, Life Enrichment Director at Morning Pointe of Chattanooga. “They love knowing that their work will bring comfort to children in our community.”

The blanket-making initiative is part of Morning Pointe’s ongoing focus on purposeful living, encouraging residents to stay engaged, work together, and use their time and talents to serve others.
