Morning Pointe Senior Living Communities Join Samaritan Center to Launch 2025 Fall Food Drive

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (October 2, 2025) – Morning Pointe Senior Living communities across the Chattanooga area are partnering with the Samaritan Center to host a community-wide Fall Food Drive, running October 13 through November 10, 2025.

The effort will provide both emergency food bags and ongoing support to families and individuals in need. Collection barrels will be placed at all local Morning Pointe Assisted Living and Memory Care communities, as well as the Morning Pointe Senior Living Corporate Office & Morning Pointe Foundation, giving residents, families, associates, and neighbors an easy way to give back this season.

Participating locations include:

  • Morning Pointe of Chattanooga at Shallowford
  • The Lantern at Morning Pointe Chattanooga
  • Morning Pointe of Collegedale at Greenbriar Cove
  • The Lantern at Morning Pointe Collegedale
  • Morning Pointe of East Hamilton
  • The Lantern at Morning Pointe of East Hamilton
  • Morning Pointe of Hixson
  • Morning Pointe Senior Living Corporate Office & Morning Pointe Foundation

How to Help:

  • Donate food: Drop off shelf-stable items (please check expiration dates).
  • Give financially: Contributions help purchase essential items that are not collected. Financial donations can be made online at thesamaritancenter.net by selecting “Food Pantry” in the dropdown menu.

Most Needed Items Include:

  • Low-sodium soup
  • Cooking oil
  • Canned meat
  • Mustard
  • Beanie weenies
  • Juice
  • Salad dressing
  • Sugar & flour
  • Rice/pasta dinners
  • Dry soups
  • Pasta sauce & noodles
  • Hot cereals
  • Canned fruit

“Our communities are honored to support the Samaritan Center in meeting urgent needs,” said Amanda Yelenick, Vice President of Life Enrichment at Morning Pointe Senior Living. “The simple act of donating a box of pasta, a jar of peanut butter, or even a few cans of soup can make a lasting difference for a neighbor facing food insecurity.”

“Morning Pointe prides itself on being a community resource,” Yelenick continued. “There is always so much happening in the cities and towns we serve, and this is just one more way we can get involved and make a difference in our local community.”
