Morning Pointe Senior Living Promotes Dedicated Associate to New Leadership Role

Shona Chandler to serve as new Senior Director of Operational Support and Associate Engagement

Morning Pointe Senior Living announces the promotion of Shona Chandler to an expanded operational role within the company. Ms. Chandler will become the senior director of operational support and associate engagement. She will be responsible for the management, growth, and development of key operational processes, emphasizing dining excellence, executive director leadership, training, recruitment, and human resources.

Chandler has worked with Morning Pointe Senior Living for the past year as the director of operational support. “Shona continues to exceed in all of her responsibilities at Morning Pointe Senior Living,” says Heather Tussing, COO of Morning Pointe. “We are lucky to have her on board and couldn’t be more proud of her accomplishments. I know she will continue to excel in her new role.”

The new leadership position will enable Chandler to build on her human resource experience. “We as a department will be focusing on training and development. One of our priorities will be to implement a mentoring program for positions within the communities and expand and improve our orientation program and structure,” says Chandler.

For 13 years, Chandler has enjoyed a successful career as an executive director in the senior living industry. She started early in her career in 1996 with Hamilton Ryker, Complete Human Resource Company where she held the position of area HR manager for 6 years. Chandler obtained her HR management designation in 1998 at Belmont College in Nashville. She continued her HR and recruitment career at Life Care Centers of America corporate headquarters, supporting the heartland and southwest Divisions, with over 60 Skilled Nursing facilities. As a former tenured executive director, Chandler enjoys supporting all Morning Pointe communities in her role and understands their daily operations.

In Chandler’s previous role as director of operational support, she led dining operations, training, menu planning, and the farm-to-table programs. Additionally, she created an executive director mentorship training program and helped streamline admission processes, paperwork and policies.

“I am both excited and honored to have this opportunity to enhance our associate engagement experience, and work for an amazing company that invests in training and development for our team members,” shared Chandler

In her spare time, Shona loves traveling to beach destinations, reading, and doing home remodeling projects. She also enjoys family time with her husband Danny, and their adult children; Maria, Troy, and Jadyn.

“Morning Pointe has a long history of growing and promoting strong associates,” said Greg A. Vital, co-founder, and president of Morning Pointe Senior Living. “I believe Shona will continue to do great things for associates and residents at Morning Pointe.” Founded in 1997 by Tennessee healthcare entrepreneurs Greg A. Vital and Franklin Farrow, Morning Pointe Senior Living owns and operates 36 assisted living, personal care, and Alzheimer’s memory care communities in five southeastern states and is celebrating its silver anniversary throughout 2022.
