Morning Pointe Senior Living recently named Justin Leiter as director of dining operations for the company.
Leiter has been in food service for 20 years. He is a professionally trained chef with extensive healthcare leadership experience, including roles as an executive chef and director of food and nutrition services at two prominent Nashville metropolitan hospitals. He has a degree in culinary arts and is ServSafe certified.
In his new role, Leiter oversees dining services across the company’s 40 communities. He will train new food service directors and support the dietary teams with menus, budgeting and acquiring fresh local ingredients, among other responsibilities.
“I started in food service for the creative, artistic expression, but once I began working in healthcare, I came to also value the feeling that I was making a difference in someone’s life,” said Leiter. “In coming to Morning Pointe, I appreciate the compassion and integrity shown by leadership and the ability to positively impact our residents’ experience.”
Leiter lives in Cleveland, Tennessee, with his wife, Emily, and their two sons, Liam and Lochlan. In his free time, he enjoys mountain biking and spending time with his family.
“Regular nutritious and good-tasting meals are one of the most important services Morning Pointe Senior Living offers at our communities,” said Franklin Farrow, Morning Pointe Senior Living co-founder and CEO. “Food makes a huge difference in seniors’ quality of life, and we are glad to have Justin taking the lead of our food services across the region with his experience and dedication.”
Morning Pointe Senior Living was founded in 1997 by Farrow and fellow Tennessee healthcare entrepreneur Greg A. Vital, now Morning Pointe’s president. It operates 40 assisted living and Alzheimer’s memory care communities in five southeastern states: Tennessee, Kentucky, Georgia, Alabama and Indiana. For more information, visit morningpointe.com.
Each community offers licensed, clinical or care staff available 24 hours a day. Meals are served with dietician oversight in a restaurant-style setting and with an emphasis on fresh, local produce. Residents enjoy a full life enrichment activity program, including regular outings, service projects, intergenerational programming and engaging community partnerships. Physical, occupational and speech therapy services are also available on-site.
The philanthropic arm of Morning Pointe Senior Living is the Morning Pointe Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that works to provide nursing scholarships and caregiver support. For more information, visit morningpointefoundation.com.
