A Testimonial

By Betty Smith

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to live in senior living? From my perspective, it’s not so bad. I don’t have to cook; I don’t have to clean; I don’t have to do laundry.

Every Monday, three or four friends come over to play Scrabble. Each Wednesday, three different friends come to play bridge. On other days, I often play bridge with some of the residents here. It’s good to keep the old mind working.

I love to read, and I have more time to read now than I’ve ever had before. Last year, I read 48 books (and I’m a slow reader). My goal this year is 52 books, one for each week of the year.

I also enjoy television, especially the programs on public television. I am never bored.

As the good book says, “To everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under the heaven.” This is my season, and I am content.
