The Lantern at Morning Pointe Alzheimer’s Center of Excellence, Lenoir City, has named Carol Guillemet as its new executive director.
In this role, Guillemet oversees daily operations at the Alzheimer’s and memory care community located at 155 Morning Pointe Drive.
Guillemet comes to The Lantern from Senior Helpers, where she served as HR administrator. She has worked in the medical field her entire career, starting as an activity assistant in a nursing home. Also, she has worked in hospital supplies and sterilization, a podiatry clinic and X-ray service before starting in the assisted living and memory care field as business office director in 2010. She has been an executive director since 2015.
Guillemet is a certified dementia practitioner.
“I absolutely love it here at The Lantern,” said Guillemet. “I couldn’t have a better team – they have the same passion I do.”
Guillemet explained that she was the youngest of 10 children, and she has always been drawn to seniors.
“It dawned on me one day after I started working with seniors that they help fill the hole in my heart that I have for my mom,” Guillemet said.
“Carol’s energy and enthusiasm has brought a welcoming environment at The Lantern,” said Rob Pollard, senior vice president of operations for Morning Pointe Senior Living. “We are so grateful to have her as executive director. She always has the best interest of the residents and staff in mind as she leads the community.”
Originally from Kokomo, Indiana, Guillemet currently resides on the Loudon/Knox County line with her husband, Bobby. She has two sons from a previous marriage and five grandchildren. In her free time, she enjoys riding motorcycles with her husband and being outdoors.
