The new year is a time for fresh starts and setting goals that can enhance health, happiness, and quality of life. Morning Pointe Senior Living’s assisted living and memory care communities offer opportunities for seniors and their families to turn New Year’s goals into reality. Here’s how we can help support some of the most common New Year’s resolutions.

Health and Wellness

  1. Stay Active: At Morning Pointe, residents can participate in a variety of fitness programs designed for all ability levels, such as group exercise classes or walking clubs. Our communities provide access to outdoor walking paths, ensuring seniors have safe and enjoyable opportunities to stay active.
  2. Eat Healthier: Our dining services feature balanced meals with both nutrition and taste in mind. We cater to specific dietary needs, ensuring seniors can maintain a healthy and enjoyable diet.
  3. Schedule Regular Checkups: With healthcare partnerships and on-site medical services, we make it easier for residents to stay on top of their health. Our teams coordinate appointments and reminders for doctor visits and routine checkups.
  4. Improve Balance and Flexibility: Mobility-focused activities are woven into the calendars at our communities, and on-site physical and occupational therapy is also available through our therapy partners to help our residents with gross and fine motor skills.
  5. Focus on Mental Health: Our memory care and wellness programs emphasize emotional well-being. Our life enrichment directors and Lantern program directors provide programming designed to help stimulate the brain, whether through trivia, reminiscing, or other games. There are always others around to socialize with to help keep residents from becoming lonely, and devotions and other religious programs are designed to help keep residents engaged spiritually.

Social Connections

  1. Reconnect with Loved Ones: Morning Pointe encourages family visits and provides comfortable spaces for gatherings. Residents can also stay in touch with family through technology like video calls and emails, supported by our team.
  2. Make New Friends: With a robust calendar of social events and group activities, residents have daily opportunities to meet others, build friendships, and engage in shared interests.
  3. Volunteer: Many of our residents find joy and purpose in giving back. Morning Pointe provides opportunities for service projects that residents work on together, such as making dog treats for local animal shelters or writing thank-you notes to local first responders. Family members are also encouraged to volunteer to spend more time with their loved ones and get to know the other residents and staff better. We are all part of the Morning Pointe family.
  4. Plan Regular Social Outings: Our transportation services make it easy for residents to enjoy local restaurants and attractions. From shopping trips and scenic drives to museum visits and participation in local parades, we ensure seniors stay socially engaged.

Personal Growth

  1. Start a Hobby: Residents can take part in activities such as painting, gardening, or cooking through our life enrichment programs. These activities are not only enjoyable but also promote creativity and growth.
  2. Read More: Our libraries are stocked with a variety of books, and book clubs (at certain communities) offer a chance for residents to share their love of reading with others.
  3. Learn More About the World: While traveling may not always be feasible, our Morning Pointe in Motion virtual travel program brings the world to our residents with virtual travel experiences and themed events inspired by global destinations. In 2025, each month will feature a new location inspired by a popular musical, starting with Los Angeles in January as a nod to “Singin’ in the Rain.”

As we enter 2025, consider how Morning Pointe can help you or your loved one achieve your New Year’s goals and embrace the year with purpose and positivity. Together, we can check off those resolutions!
