Art’s story begins in Mexico, 1951. His father chased opportunity north to Wisconsin, found a factory job, and taught his family the language of hard work. At 17, while other kids were picking colleges, Art volunteered for the draft and joined the U.S. Marines. He excelled—earning Series Honor Man—and still carries that pride, now leading weekly veterans’ meetings at Morning Pointe at Happy Valley.
When the uniform came off, service stayed. Art became a teacher and coach in a small Milwaukee community—quick with a joke, quicker with encouragement. In the classroom he made science and history feel alive; after the bell he coached middle school volleyball and high school football, the sidelines full of kids who believed in themselves because he believed in them first.

Today, life is gentler but just as full. Art lights up at the mention of his daughter on Lookout Mountain and his two grandchildren, the best audience for his stories and one-liners.
From Marine to mentor, from newcomer to neighbor, Art’s life reads like a promise kept: show up, give back, lift others.
