Regular Pet Therapy Provides Many Benefits

For many people, animals make life more enjoyable and fun! After all, there’s a reason dogs are called “man’s best friend,” and holding a purring cat can lower blood pressure and calm stress hormones.

For so many reasons, some of our favorite volunteers at Morning Pointe Senior Living communities are pet owners who bring their animals to visit. While pets are allowed in residents’ apartments if their owners are able to care for them, we also give two paws up for our guests. Some of them even visit regularly.

Morning Pointe’s life enrichment directors and Lantern program directors strive to provide these visits on each month’s calendar of activities. Residents look forward to seeing their 4-footed friends, whether they’re shaking paws and rolling over on command or simply sitting calmly in a resident’s lap.

Thank you to each of our volunteers who brings their furry companions to bring smiles to our residents’ faces!
