Chattanooga, Tenn. (December 22, 2025) — The performing arts took center stage at Morning Pointe of Chattanooga at Shallowford Assisted Living as Chattanooga Ballet presented a special mini performance of The Nutcracker, creating an afternoon filled with music, movement, and shared joy.
Residents were joined by friends from sister Morning Pointe Assisted Living and Lantern Memory Care communities across the Tennessee Valley for the festive experience. The program began with an interactive introduction to ballet, as dancers explained basic positions and movements, inviting residents to engage with the art form before transitioning into scenes from the beloved holiday classic.

As familiar melodies filled the room, graceful choreography brought The Nutcracker to life, sparking smiles, memories, and moments of wonder throughout the room.
“Live performances like this are incredibly meaningful for our residents,” said Holly Holcomb, Executive Director at Morning Pointe of Chattanooga. “The dancers didn’t just perform — they invited our residents into the experience. Seeing the joy, curiosity, and connection it created reminds us how powerful the arts can be at every stage of life.”
More than entertainment, the performance encouraged curiosity, supported cognitive and emotional engagement, and allowed residents to stay connected to the arts they love while learning something new along the way.
“This performance shows the impact of strong community partnerships,” said Greg Vital, co-founder of Morning Pointe Senior Living. “When organizations like Chattanooga Ballet share their talents with our residents, it creates meaningful moments that stay with people long after the music ends.”

Morning Pointe of Chattanooga extends its sincere appreciation to the talented dancers of Chattanooga Ballet for sharing their artistry and helping make the holiday season even more special for residents and families.
