Jenniffer Spears named executive director at The Lantern at Morning Pointe Alzheimer’s Center of Excellence, Franklin

Jenniffer Spears was recently named executive director at The Lantern at Morning Pointe Alzheimer’s Center of Excellence, Franklin.

In this role, Spears oversees day-to-day operations at the memory care community, located at 1015 Generations Way. She collaborates with a dedicated team of directors, nurses, nursing assistants and other support staff that focuses on fostering meaningful relationships and experiences for residents, as well as promoting their health, independence and well-being. As the leader at the community, she assists with training, mentoring and developing Morning Pointe associates.

Spears has worked for Morning Pointe Senior Living for more than seven years and recently served as senior business office director for the company’s Cumberland Region.

“The thing I enjoy most about senior living is making a difference in people’s lives,” said Spears. “I love working for Morning Pointe because of the career opportunities and how invested they are in their employees.”

Originally from Nashville, Spears currently resides in Spring Hill. She and her husband, Chris, have two children: Madison and Preston. In her free time, she enjoys reading and vacationing in the mountains with her family.

“Jenniffer’s dedication, leadership and compassion make her a great fit for the executive director role,” said Rob Pollard, senior vice president of operations for Morning Pointe Senior Living. “She has the experience to support and guide residents and their families through the emotional journey of Alzheimer’s and dementia, and the staff respect her and work well under her leadership.”

The Lantern at Morning Pointe of Franklin offers memory care with clinical and nursing staff. Meals are served with dietician oversight in a restaurant-style setting and with an emphasis on fresh, local produce. Residents enjoy a full life enrichment activity program, including regular outings, service projects, intergenerational programming and engaging community partnerships. Physical, occupational and speech therapy services are also available on-site.

Memory care programming includes the Best Friends™ Approach, Teepa Snow’s Positive Approach to Care, music therapy, art therapy, cuddle therapy and Meaningful Day™ purposeful memory care program that provides structure to help residents feel safe and secure.

The community shares a campus with Morning Pointe of Franklin Assisted Living, offering a continuum of care for seniors.

Morning Pointe Senior Living was founded in 1997 by Tennessee healthcare entrepreneurs Greg A. Vital and Franklin Farrow. It owns and operates 39 assisted living and Alzheimer’s memory care communities in five southeastern states, including seven in Middle Tennessee in Franklin, Brentwood, Spring Hill, Columbia and Tullahoma.

The philanthropic arm of Morning Pointe Senior Living is the Morning Pointe Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that works to provide nursing scholarships and caregiver support.
