The deadline for Knoxville auditions for Morning Pointe Foundation’s 4th Annual Seniors Got Talent, show is approaching next Friday, Oct. 4.
The show, presented in partnership with Morning Pointe Senior Living, will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 12, at 7 p.m., at The Bijou Theatre at 803 S. Gay Street. Tryouts are open to all seniors ages 60+ with any kind of performing talent. Knoxville auditions are being accepted online at morningpointefoundation.com/seniorsgottalent/. The Foundation will choose the best 10 acts to perform on stage at the big show.
The grand-prize winner will receive $1,000, with $500 for second place and $250 for third place. Contestants will be judged on technical ability, stage presence and professionalism, appearance/costume, difficulty of act and originality/creativity. Audience members will vote for the People’s Choice winner at $1 per vote, with proceeds going to the Morning Pointe Foundation.
“If you are 60 or up and have a dream of performing at the Bijou Theatre, don’t let this opportunity pass you by,” said Miranda Perez, Morning Pointe Foundation executive director. “We look forward to our Knoxville show and giving seniors here in East Tennessee a chance to prove that age is just a number.”
So far, auditions have included singers, dancers, guitarists, a pianist, an accordion player, a ukulele player, and a musical saw player.
Tickets are $10 and are available now on The Bijou Theatre website.
