LEXINGTON, Ky. (July 3, 2025) – Central Kentucky’s talent is no secret, especially when it comes to the area’s senior stars. In just the last two years, three acts from Frankfort—Elvis tribute artist Endre Samu, the dazzling Glitterbugs dance troupe, and the ever-energetic Capital Steppers—took the stage at the Morning Pointe Foundation’s Seniors Got Talent showcase and wowed the crowd. Their performances were a powerful reminder that talent doesn’t fade with age—it shines even brighter. Their stories inspire us all to celebrate aging as a time to thrive, express ourselves, and inspire others.

And now, it’s time to shine again.
The spotlight is heating up in Kentucky as auditions open for the 2025 Morning Pointe Seniors Got Talent Lexington variety show, with local seniors once again invited to take center stage for a shot at the $1,000 grand prize—and maybe something even bigger.
Celebrating Ageless Talent, Supporting a Worthy Cause
Any senior or group (six members or fewer) can try out to compete at the big show on Tuesday, September 9, at 7 p.m., at the Lexington Opera House, located at 401 W. Short St. The requirements are: To be at least 60 years young and have some form of performing talent.
“There is such an impressive amount of talent in Central Kentucky, and then to think that the seniors bring so much talent as well is pretty phenomenal,” said Collins and Cox, second-place winners in the 2024 Morning Pointe Foundation’s Seniors Got Talent in Lexington.
A panel of judges will determine the first, second, and third-place winners, with prizes of $1,000, $500, and $250, respectively. Audience votes will also determine the People’s Choice award.
“I had a great old time with it,” said Endre Samu, an Elvis tribute artist who competed in the Lexington show last year. “The audience was great. The staff was great. I can’t say enough about it.”
Seniors Got Talent is produced by the Morning Pointe Foundation, a nonprofit organization in conjunction with Morning Pointe Senior Living, but the pool of contestants is open to any senior. Proceeds from show sponsorships and ticket sales support the Foundation’s funds for scholarships at partner colleges. These include Eastern Kentucky University, Bluegrass Community and Technical College, Kentucky State University, and Kentucky Community and Technical College.
How to Audition
Auditions are being accepted online at morningpointefoundation.com/events/seniors-got-talent/. In-person auditions will run July 14-22 at local Morning Pointe Senior Living communities:

- Thursday, July 17, from 1-3 p.m. at The Lantern at Morning Pointe of Lexington – 225 Ruccio Way, Lexington, KY 40503
- Thursday, July 17, from 1-3 p.m. at Morning Pointe of Louisville – 4711 South Hurstbourne Pkwy., Louisville, KY 40291

The final deadline for auditions is July 25. Ten to 12 senior acts will be chosen from the auditions to compete at the show. Contestants will be judged on technical ability, stage presence and professionalism, appearance/costume, difficulty of act and originality/creativity.
