RUSSELL, Ky. (August 14, 2025) – Families and community members gathered at Morning Pointe of Russell on August 12 for the Morning Pointe Foundation’s first-ever Caregiver Café in the area, focused on the theme “How to Make Tough Decisions for Your Aging Loved One.”
The free event brought together a mix of older adults and younger family members seeking clarity on some of the most pressing issues in senior care — from trusts, investments, and wills to VA benefits, Medicaid/Medicare questions, and financial planning. Local experts led an interactive discussion, answering questions and offering resources to help families navigate the often-complicated process of planning for the future.
“Our community at large is a very aging population. Back in the day, we had a lot of factories, railroads, plants, and other industries that paid a healthy salary, and these individuals saved for a rainy day,” said Stacey Cook, Community Relations Director at Morning Pointe of Russell. “As they age, they are trying to figure out what to do next. Last night was very eye-opening for me — the questions were great, the information was wonderful, and almost every person approached a presenter afterward for more information or to schedule a future appointment.”
The team at Morning Pointe of Russell is honored to support the community and grateful for the strong turnout. The event proved to be a highly valuable resource for the area, and plans are already underway to host additional Caregiver Café gatherings in the near future, each focused on addressing different community needs.
The Morning Pointe Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Morning Pointe Senior Living, provides caregiver support, educational programs, and scholarships to advance the field of senior care. The Caregiver Café series is designed to equip families with the knowledge and confidence they need when making important care decisions for their loved ones.
