Morning Pointe of Hardin Valley in Knoxville, Tennessee, has named Paula Goins, LPN, as its executive director.

In this role, Goins oversees daily operations at the assisted living and memory care community located at 2449 Reagan Road. She works with a team of directors, nurses, nursing assistants and other support staff to provide quality resident care and family support.

Goins is a U.S. Army veteran, serving for four years in South Korea and Fort Campbell, Kentucky. After discharging from the military, she became a nurse and worked in gastroenterology, oncology and geriatrics. She started in assisted living as a director of nursing before growing into an executive director role.

“I am thankful to be a part of the Morning Pointe Hardin Valley team, and I pray that I can always serve our residents, families, and staff to the best of my ability,” said Goins. “Seeing the residents smiling and happy is what makes me love my job, and the residents allowing me and my family to be a part of their family is the best feeling.”

“I am very excited to have Paula join the Morning Pointe of Hardin Valley team,” said Abby Medley, vice president of operations for Morning Pointe Senior Living’s Appalachian Region. “She is one of the hardest working and most dedicated people I know. She truly loves working with the residents.”

Originally from Jellico, Tennessee, Goins resides in Clinton. Her husband, Billy, is the pastor at New Beginning Baptist Church in Rocky Top. She has three daughters (Hannah, Ava and Brie) and a stepdaughter (Leah). In her free time, she enjoys watching sports, playing board games and camping with her family.

Morning Pointe of Hardin Valley offers both assisted living and memory care services with clinical staff available 24/7. Meals are served with dietician oversight in a restaurant-style setting and with an emphasis on fresh, local produce. Residents also enjoy a full life enrichment activity program, including regular outings, service projects, intergenerational programming, and engaging community partnerships. Physical, occupational and speech therapy services are also available on-site.

Next door to Morning Pointe of Hardin Valley, The Lantern at Morning Pointe Alzheimer’s Center of Excellence of Hardin Valley is under development. It will offer specialized memory care services and is expected to open in early 2025. At that time, Morning Pointe of Hardin Valley will transition to assisted living only.

Founded in 1997, Morning Pointe Senior Living owns and operates 38 assisted living, personal care, and Alzheimer’s memory care communities in five southeastern states. Other area Morning Pointe campuses are located in Knoxville, Clinton, Powell and Lenoir City.

The philanthropic arm of Morning Pointe Senior Living is the Morning Pointe Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that works to provide nursing scholarships and caregiver support.
