It’s going to be a star-studded show at the Lexington Opera House on Sept. 12, and the stars are local talented seniors age 62 and up!
Auditions are going on now through July 31 for the Morning Pointe Foundation’s 4th Annual Lexington Seniors Got Talent variety show. All talented seniors age 62 and older in the Lexington area are encouraged to try out. Acts have included singers, musicians, dancers, poets, comedians, ventriloquists and more. So far this summer, a variety of acts are scheduled to audition in person.
Ten seniors or groups of seniors will be selected to perform at the Lexington Opera House on Sept. 12 at 7 p.m. They will vie for the grand prize of $500, and prizes will be given to second- and third-place winners. Attendees at the show will also determine a People’s Choice winner at $1 per vote.
All proceeds from the show will go to the Morning Pointe Foundation, 501(c)3 nonprofit public service organization that provides caregiver support programs, sponsors educational awareness events, and funds clinical scholarships throughout the Southeast.

In-person auditions will also take place July 20-28 at local Morning Pointe Senior Living campuses, allowing residents to enjoy some live entertainment:

“Our Morning Pointe Seniors Got Talent show in Lexington is shaping up to be the biggest it’s ever been,” said Miranda Perez, Morning Pointe Foundation executive director. “This is a great opportunity for Kentuckians age 62 years young and older to show that age can’t stop a star from shining!”
Acts showcasing talents of all kinds are welcome but should not exceed three minutes in length.
Tickets for the Morning Pointe Foundation Seniors Got Talent show are $10. They will go on sale in August.
