Packing Smiles and Supplies: Morning Pointe of Athens Gives Local Students a Strong Start

ATHENS, Tenn. (August 13, 2025) – Residents and associates at Morning Pointe of Athens turned an afternoon of sorting and packing into a meaningful act of service for local children. Together, they prepared dozens of boxes filled with pencils, crayons, notebooks, and other essential school supplies for Athens City Elementary School — ensuring students have the tools they need to start the year confident and prepared.

For Morning Pointe Senior Living, giving back is more than a good deed — it’s part of the company’s DNA. Across all its assisted living and memory care communities, Morning Pointe embraces opportunities to “pour back” into the towns and cities it serves, connecting residents with causes that uplift their neighbors and foster a sense of purpose.

“This project is a perfect example of what we stand for,” said Crystal Sutton, executive director at Morning Pointe of Athens, “Our residents love having the chance to contribute and make a difference in our students.”

The effort is one of many philanthropic and community outreach initiatives at Morning Pointe Senior Living, which also supports local food drives, veterans’ programs, scholarships for local students through the Morning Pointe Foundation, and partnerships with area nonprofits. These activities not only benefit the community but also enrich the lives of residents, offering them meaningful ways to stay active, engaged, and connected.

From the smiles on residents’ faces as they packed each box to the anticipation of the students who will receive them, the project was a reminder that small acts of kindness can have a big impact — and that giving back is a joy at any age.
